FHE
2. She has learned how to push a chair up to the fridge, grab the two vertical rails, and shimmy up the fridge to reach the candy on top of the fridge.
3. Monday night we had FHE (Annie was already in bed.) We sang Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam and looked at pictures of Jesus in the Ensign, and talked about the "owies" in his hands, and how he did it for us so that we could "get better." Then we finished our short (5 minute) lesson and asked her if she wanted to say the closing prayer. She said yes, and immediately knelt down, folded her arms and said, "Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you this day, Thank you for Jesus."
It melted my heart on the spot.

Kalia-isms
I wake up from an afternoon nap. You come running in and say, "Good morning mommy!" and jump up on the bed to give me a big hug. I said, "Where's daddy?" And you said, "Downstairs." And I said, "oh really?" and you said, "On the couch. Read a story. Once upon a time. little monkey." (big grin.) I laughed so hard. I knew he was reading the Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. After I laughed so hard you said, "I'm so happy." It was adorable.
I brought home a movie from the library, the Care Bears, and you've watched it a few times. Now you every time you mention it you call it, "My bears."-- I want to watch my bears. or I'm watching my bears.

You were carrying around a little bowl of red potatoes. You accidentally spilled them into the upside-down bumbo chair. You started picking them up and I heard you say, "Dang it. Oh dang it. I bustrated." (You have a little book that talks about feelings and you learned what "frustrated" means. You've used that word three times this week and it cracks me up every time.
I was on the bed watching Project Runway on the laptop. You were watching Diego on our desktop computer. You came running in to check on me and got up on the bed to see what I was watching. You said, "Watch Diego" and I said, "No, this is Mommy's show." and so you got off the bed and ran out and said, "Watch Diego on puter (computer)...Ka-wee-a's show!!" and you ran out. (You still say all your "L's" as W's.)

11 Months Old
Bananas (causing some constipation problems) and Mac and Cheese-- you love them both so much, you literally shovel them into your mouth. I'm giving you high fiber yogurt to counteract the banana problem.
You puts everything over her head or around her neck- leis, necklaces, strings (makes me nervous!) and clothes. You found one of the tops to my G's and managed to wear it like a toga for 15 minutes, I had to laugh.

Signing: I was so surprised when out of the blue you started signing-- I did signs here and there, but didn't think you were paying attention. Now you are signing eat, drink, more, doggy, all done (sometimes) and help (a barely-there version of help, but whatever). It's so nice to know what you want. You have also started pointing at things to show us what you want, and where you want to go (which is outside. Always.) Also helpful.Dogs: I have no idea where this new fascination with dogs has come with, but HOLY COW, you're obsessed. You say doggyy ("doddy") about 100 times a day, pat your little leg, and start laughing and breathing hard whenever you hear one or see one. I bought you some books with puppies, because I'm not about to buy you a dog. (yet)
You've started crying every time Daddy leaves the house. You already squeal and run to him when he comes home, but now you're noticing him leaving. He loves it.
You're increasingly restless at church. Case in point: Last Sunday I caught 20 minutes of Sacrament and 15 minutes of Sunday school. None of relief society. You won't stay on my lap, and you love to escape into the aisles (or halls) and then you boldly walks onto the stand or into Bishop's offices. Oh well, at least we're there right? (I try to tell myself). Only 8 more months til nursery.
You're in love with the computer, especially the little red light underneath the mouse. You climb up on the chair in front of the computer and start banging away on the keyboard, playing with the mouse, or crawling up on the desk, or under it. I pull you off about 10 times a day.

You are getting the "let me do it" attititude and you want to feed yourself with a spoon. I caught a funny moment on camera, at about the 30 second mark:

10 Months Old
We get to spend a lot of time in St. George this summer, while Grandma Karen has chemotherapy. You love the piano!
Here you are with your Great Grandma Ruth. She always makes time especially for you, even though she has 35 other great-grandkids!
Here's our small little family-- for now!
